Madison PyleHello my name is Madison, I was born and raised in Portland Oregon. I am a University of Oregon graduate and my major was environmental studies. I like to do outdoor activities and also fun activities such as events, movies, festivals and social events. I love my job supporting the DD community and I have over 5 years of experience.

Nathan SeamanNathan has worked in the service provider field since 2009. Starting in Portland Parks and Recreation he worked with children at the SUN school at Grout Elemenatry School. Transferring to St. John's Community Center 2012, Nathan worked his way up to After School Program Director and Summer Day Camp Director. For the past two and a half years Nathan has provided residential and community supports to adults in the DD community. Focusing on community inclusion, active lifestyle, healthy diet and social interaction Nathan strives to provide mental and physical enrichment.

Jessica LibertyHello, my name is Jessica. I have a talkative and outgoing personality. I am a big dog lover. My favorite things to do are spending time at the beach and going to plays and musicals. I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures, food and art. My greatest achievement is receiving a bachelor's degree and living abroad for two years. My ultimate bucket list goal is to travel to every continent. So far I'm half way there. I look forward to meeting and getting a chance to know you.

Colleen FarnumColleen enjoys teaching yoga and has been teaching in Miami Beach Florida for many years. She has also owned a dance company and performed with dance companies since high school. Colleen was an assistant teacher at a private academy in Florida and enjoyed working with children. She has an easy going style and is always willing to help others.

Kim OrtizHello I am Kim, I love interacting with people and doing fun things in the community. I enjoy walks, drives, the zoo, museums and all kinds of fun outings. I am very skilled at finding people jobs that best fit their needs and interests. I love my jobs supporting and assisting the developmentally disabled community

Meg CockburnHello I'm Meg Cockburn, I've lived in the Portland metro area my whole life. I've always loved helping others reach there goals. I enjoyed being a stay at home mom to three sons who are now grown. In the past I've worked in the community outreach restorative justice program and I've also worked in the job development industry helping people find jobs. I really love my job helping individuals with differing abilities.

Corinna MegeduykHello my name is Corinna. I was born and raised here in Portland, Oregon. I graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Spanish. I love taking care of people and empowering individuals to live their lives to the fullest.

David WardDavid Ward has lived his whole life in Portland. He attended Wilson and MLC high schools. He also studied music and literature at PCC. David has worked as a musician, butcher, fishmonger, in warehouses and in the lighting industry. David feels very blessed to be working with this community and to have an opportunity to help people.

Kathleen NelsonKathleen is a native Portlander. Her employment background is purchasing, sales, and customer service. Non-work-related interests are..... just about everything! Kathleen enjoys nature, animals, walks, music, movies, live theater, the zoo, OMSI, volunteer work, participating in Portland’s many local events such as festivals and fairs, and more. Kathleen had long-term prior familiarity and interaction with DD friends before joining Advocates For Empowerment. She is now happily and enthusiastically contributing her traits of maturity, flexibility, patience and dependability to the DD community by being a care provider. Evenings and weekends are Kathleen’s availability to work with clients. Kim MintoKim has worked in the field of developmental disabilities for many years. She worked in group homes serving many different clients, shes a kind compassionate caring individual. She likes to garden and explore and go on new adventures.

Laura MerrellHello I am Laura I taught Art Therapy, Grief Recovery, and Self-care for Professionals in high-stress fields, workshops at Marylhurst College and Clackamas Community College. In my twenties I lived and worked in Sweden for six years which has really informed my life. I love people, art of all kinds, and traveling. I really enjoy helping people, hiking and being in the outdoors, gardening and cooking for friends and family. I had my own interior design business for fourteen years while I was raising my daughter and still practice feng shui and organizing for people on request!
